It started with a checked bag full of candy.

We're Kyle, Nicole, and Ellie — a tiny team obsessed with Swedish candy and the Saturday ritual that surrounds it. This is why we built Saturday Sweets.

Kyle — the candy smuggler.

Kyle used to run a business in Sweden, which meant a lot of flights between the US and Stockholm. He's also a lifelong candy lover — the kind of person who has opinions about gummy texture. The first time he walked up to a godisvägg, scoop in hand, it was over. From then on, every single trip home meant a checked bag stuffed with Swedish candy for friends and family. People started requesting specific pieces. Then asking when the next trip was. Then asking if he could just send some.

Nicole — the health nut who fell for licorice.

Nicole is a health nut who reads every label. So when she tried Swedish candy and learned that most of it skips HFCS, GMOs, trans fats, and Red 40 — and uses real fruit purees, beet juice, and paprika for color — she was hooked. More than that: she actually feels different after eating it. No sugar crash, no weird-additive hangover. Just a Saturday treat that tastes incredible and doesn't wreck the rest of her day.

Ellie — Chief Culture Officer.

Ellie is our Bernese Mountain Dog and our company mascot. Officially: Chief Culture Officer, Morale Officer, and Director of Fun & Happiness. She supervises every order we pack, audits the bento boxes for quality, and accepts payment exclusively in belly rubs. If your box arrives with a single black-and-white hair tucked into the kraft paper — that's Ellie's signature. We leave it in on purpose.
